1950, Trichel

'Caddo' ( Lillian Trichel, R. 1950). AH/LA, 36" (91 cm), Late midseason bloom. Color Class-ORD/Y2, Red-bronze, gold signal. "Lilyana" X 'Bayou Vermilion'. Nesmith 1950. Honorable Mention 1950; DeBaillon Award 1950.

NOTE: "Lilyana" not found. Hybridizer spelling varies between 39 CL and Iris Register: Trichel and Trichell.

From Sidney Conger Louisiana Iris catalog, 1951: CADDO. (Trichel, '50). H.M., A.I.S.,'50, M. S.D. Award '50. This award winning iris deserves the attention. The brilliant red-bronze or deep burgundy coloring of the well-formed flowers is contrasted by large, circular signal patches of bright gold. The sepals are orbicular and reflex gracefully. Hardy in New England and increases rapidly. 30" to 36". $7.50.
