References:

From Longfield Iris Farm catalog, 1929: Dorothea K. Williamson (Williamson 1918). A hybrid of the beardless species fulva and foliosa. Large velvety flowers of the most vivid purple. Thirty inches. Generally considered one of the very finest of the beardless Irises. Fine as a cut flower. We will furnish this variety for April or late fall delivery. It requires a moister situation than bearded Iris. $0.50 .
From Sidney Conger Louisiana Iris catalog, 1952: DORTHEA K. WILLIAMSON. (Williamson, '18). The demand for hardiness among the Louisianas grows, and this iris is the criteria for such a goal. It is hardy wherever iris grow. The flat wine flowers are held on erect stems 30" to 36" in height. Excellent for flower arrangements. $.50.
