1988, Haymon

'Hurricane Party' (Dorman Haymon, R. 1986). Seedling 5-83-2. LA, height 39" (99 cm), Midseason bloom. Lightly ruffled full red violet, slightly darker around large triangular yellow gold signal and down center of Falls; cream styles shading to full dark red violet; slight fragrance. 'Blue Duke' X 'Ann Chowning'. Deep South Gardens 1988.

From AIS Bulletin #277 April 1990 Introducing HURRICANE PARTY (Sdlg. 5-83-2) 39" (99 cm) Mid-season. Lightly ruffled full red-violet. Slightly darker around large triangular yellow-gold signal and down center of falls. Cream styles shading to full dark red-violet. Slight fragrance. "Big is beautiful" with good zigzag stalk. Looks like a tetraploid! (Blue Duke X Ann Chowning). $8.00. Deep south Garden.
