From Sidney Conger Louisiana Iris catalog, 1951: KING'S GOLD (Coll., Nelson). A rich gold of Abbeville form. The substance is firm affording stiff flaring sepals; the texture is of smooth, thick velvet. The linear signal patch is of deeper gold than the flower color with a border of brown. Excellent. $4.00.
