'Peggy Mac' (W. B. MacMillan, R. 1943) LA. 30-36". Midseason bloom. Color Class-R1D. Magenta rose, gold line signal; I. nelsonii type. Collected by MacMillan in 1938 in bog near Abbeville, La. Recorded as Vinie in 49 Checklist; Class renamed Louisiana Iris

From Sidney Conger Louisiana Iris catalog, 1952: PEGGY MAC (McMillan). This is the ideal in the flat, overlapping Abbeville form. The 6" magneta-rose flowers are borne frequently three at one time on a 30" stem. Has proved an excellent parent. $2.00.
