Amanda Crane Hahn (1900-1998)

Amanda Crane Hahn, 97, of Springfield died Tuesday at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born Nov. 11, 1900, in Green Ridge, the daughter of Joseph Nathaniel and Vaultie Ethel Campbell Crane. She married Lindsay R. Hahn; he preceded her in death in 1951.

Mrs. Hahn owned and operated Hahn's Iris Garden. She received her GED from Lawrence Adult Center at the age of 80 and graduated from Lincoln Land Community College at the age of 82, the oldest to receive a degree from that institution. She retired as a teacher's aide from Lawrence Adult Center.

She was a member of Elliott Avenue Baptist Church, the American Iris Society, the American Orchid Society and served as a judge for the societies' flower shows.
