From Millbury, Massachusetts. Born in 1891 and passed away in 1963.

George Leo Leary Sr. absolutely loved to garden and grow exquisite plants & flowers, especially his prized Irises. He would cross pollinate them by hand in order to create hybridized versions with unique colors, patterns and pedal shapes. Rememberance by Cal Leary, 30 Jan 2024

His registration with the American Iris Society in 1955 was a tall bearded class iris with a plicata flower pattern, which he named 'Multi-Ruffles'
