The Lodge, Skylands Farm, Sloatsburg, N.Y. Became interested in Irises when seven years old, making his own collection and beginning to sell when about ten. Began early to hybridize and was greatly helped by the kindness of the late E.B. Williamson who gave him many fine varieties with which to work. Only interested in good varieties that grow well. List began in 1928, continued past 1939. Very keen on music, playing the French Horn.
