Hybridizer Eva L. (Pierce) Soper (1900-1969)¹

Eva's father, George Soper(1970-1942) was a well renowned illustrator. His education in engraving occurred under Sir Frank Short at the Royal College of Art 1916-1920. His etchings are considered to be among the finest of their time, and was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy and a full member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers. In 1908, George built a house in Harmer Green, Welwyn, Hertfordshire where he lived for the rest of his life and was known as 'Wildings' when his daughters inherited the property.
