Hybridizer Sir Frederick Stern

Sussex, England

Sir Frederick C. Stern was an amateur gardener and Iris breeder. He was President of the Iris Society of England in 1932 and 1936 then Vice President for 1934, 1935, 1937 and 1938. Received the Cory Cup in 1928. From 1929 to 1949, registered irises as Major Frederick Stern of London, England. Recipient of the Foster Memorial Plaque in 1941.
