Hybridizer Carl Peter Thunberg (1743-1822)

Swedish naturalist and pupil of Carl Linnaeus. He has been called "the Japanese Linnaeus". He was commissioned to visit the Dutch colonies and Japan to collect specimens for Dutch botanical gardens.
