George Yeld Gerrards Cross, England.

Schoolmaster, for many years he resided in York where he taught. Amateur gardener of note and keen Iris breeder. having raised some of the most famous of Irises, Including 'Asia', 'Lord of June', 'Sir Michael', etc. First President, The Iris Society (Eng.) 1923. Recipient of the Foster Memorial Plaque for achievement in the Iris world, and in 1925 of the Victoria Medal Of Honour. (info from Iris Check List, 1939)
