Judges' Choice 1978


1978, the Last year of the Judges' Choice
For several years The American Iris Society expenditures had exceeded its income. In 1978 a committee was appointed to study the dues structure of the Society. The Judges' Choice Ballot was a seperately mailed ballot to all of the AIS Judges. One of the recommendations of the committee, approved by the AIS Board, was to eliminate the costly Judges' Choice Ballot effective in 1979. Thus 1978 was the last Judges' Choice recognition.

The Judges' Choice Ballot votes recognized the most overall votes as the Walther Cup winner in addition to all of the class recognitions.
