Depending on the authority there are sometimes as many as 50 species of Oncocylus Iris listed. All of these species have the same or similar chromosome numbers and are interfertile. In nature one can find natural hybrids where populations come close to each other. Gardeners have also crossed many of the species with each other. Both of these are termed Oncocyclus hybrids. Oncocyclus also cross with Regelias and these are termed [[InfoClassificationRegeliocyclus][Regeliocyclus]]. Another type of cross is an Onco or Onco Hybrid crossed with a bearded Iris from [[InfoClassificationSectionIris][Section Iris]]. These are termed Oncobreds and are one of the types of [[Ar.WebHome][Arilbred Irises]]. --- %COMMENT{ type="bottom"}% --- -- Main.BobPries - 2016-01-23
