Color Class--Glaciatas

Under construction 'Elsa Sass'

The first recognized Glaciata was 'Elsa Sass' registered in 1938. Glaciatas appeared as segregates out of plicata breeding which carried no anthocyanin pigments. By examining the parentage one can recognize a glaciata, because a parent will be a plicata with anthocyanin pigment. The first white ones were referred to as ice-whites because of the purity of color. They occur in white, lemon and other shades of yellow, pink, salmon and orange and the colors often seem to glow with clarity.
