The AIS National Conventions

The American Iris Society (AIS) hosts National Conventions annually during the Spring Iris bloom with opportunities to tour iris gardens, attend educational presentations, meet and talk with irisarians and iris hybridizers (the folks that create new iris), enjoy welcome and awards dinners, purchase iris items from the AIS storefront and boutique, and participate in iris auctions. There is also a business meeting held during a Spring convention. The Spring conventions are hosted by AIS Affiliate Societies and Regions at varying locations each year across the United States and in Canada.

There are a number of popularity convention awards that result from convention attendee voting. Attendees do not have to be members of the AIS to particpate in the popularity voting. The popularity awards are listed below with links to each of the awards' pages:

• President's Cup
• Franklin Cook Cup
• Ben Hager Cup
• Zurbrigg-Mahan Seedling Cup
• Gerald Richardson Award

There is also a Fall meeting held which is primarlily a business meeting. Previously the annual Fall meetings were held as in person meetings. Currently the Fall meetings are held in person every third year with the other two years being held virtually. The in person Fall meetings are also hosted by AIS Affilaites or members of AIS Affiliates at varying locations. For a printable list of the Fall Meetings click here.
