Searching the Wiki

If you follow this simple caution it should be easy to find something on the wiki.

Below is an Image of the search page. Note the filters on the left bar. Enter the words you want to search and narrow the search by checking boxes in the filters. You can restrict it to the current web by using that box under the search box.

Some other hints or tricks!

  1. Be sure to scroll down to see each web's search results when searching multiple webs
  2. Myth: You do not need to use a wikiword to search. Just type what you are looking for.
  3. If your spelling is off you will not get the search results you are looking for.
    1. Try searching part or parts of the name if you are sure of the spelling. You do not need to search only for compete names.
    2. Hint if you know the web but not the spelling, try looking under the letter of the alphabet.
  4. There is a normal index found just above the search symbol on the left sidebar, General topics other than cultivars such as "cultivation" can be found there. Here is a direct link to it:
    https://wiki.irises.org/Main/IrisInfo
  5. Searches provide you with the first 10 results; click next to see more.

Check out our Image galleries

We have made some searches already for you and have assembled the results into picture galleries; For example:

  1. Galleries of Irises that have won garden awards in a given year.
  2. Galleries of New registrations for a given year.
  3. Explore the Index on the left bar for general subjects.

In summer of 2024 the wiki application was upgraded now you can apply filters to search results by checking items on the left bar when you search.
