Appointed annually by the President of AIS and approved by the Board of Directors, he or she is ultimately responsible to the AIS Board of Directors.
He or she shall report to and maintain communications with the Managing Editor during assembly of articles and material to be included.
Shall be a salaried position with a stipend of $??? per issue. Expenses directly related to this position shall be reimbursable.
Shall be a non-voting member of the Bulletin Staff.
Shall solicit articles and photos from a broad spectrum of contributors to represent the diverse interests of the AIS membership.
Shall edit content for subject focus, grammar, spelling, punctuation. Derogatory and irrelevant materials shall be removed.
Shall not accept materials in which the author requires/demands verbatim publication. (This is not policy but should be. - T.A.)
Shall be responsible for following AIS Bulletin Policy.
Shall be bring to the attention of the managing editor, materials of a questionable content not covered by AIS Policy, for content review and discussion. Such materials may be reviewed by the AIS Board of Directors to determine the need for and, if considered necessary, crafting a policy position.
Shall deliver prepared text of a font size to match bulletin text to the Managing Editor approximately 30 days prior to date of the issue. (January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, Oct. 1st)
Shall maintain communications with the Managing Editor during assembly of articles. Rough drafts of articles should be forwarded to Managing Editor for graphic enhancement. (HA! - love it! - Also T.A.)
