'Dark Note' (Alta Brown, R. 1969). Seedling #D 782-5. MDB, height 4-5" (10-13 cm). Early bloom. Aconite violet self (Wilson 937); near black spots on falls; wisteria blue beards. 'Rosy Carpet' X 'Kip'. Brown's Iris Gardens 1970. Honorable Mention 1971.

From AIS Bulletin #197 April 1970 Introducing DARK NOTE. Sdlg. D 782-5. (Rosy Carpet X Kip) EE. 4-5". A pumila of dark violet, near black, with smooth velvety; near black spot on the falls and a wisteria blue beard. Especially good form and heavier substance than is usually found in the pumilas. $5.00. Brown's Iris Garden.
