'Ditton Purple' (Barr and Sons, 1910). DB, height 8-10" (20-25 cm). Early bloom. Color Class-B9D. Full violet bitone. Parentage unknown (thought to be a hybrid of I. aphylla). Barr & Sons 1910.

From Carl Starker catalog 1929: Ditton Purple. 5-inch. This is one of my best; dark plum, purple self. 35c.
From Meadow Mountain Bulb Farm catalog 1931: DITTON PURPLE. A clear bright violet self, even to the B. 3 to 5 blooms on elegant branched stalks. Rather scarce. 9 to 11 ins. 3 for $1.00, 10 for $2.75.
From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1957: DITTON'S PURPLE Each .50; 3 for 1.25. One of the larger bearded dwarfs with violet purple flowers. Branched. 10 inches.
