1899, Goos & Koenemann

'Excelsa' (Max Goos and August Koenemann, 1899). DB, height 8" (20 cm). Early bloom. Light primrose yellow bitone; yellow beards. Goos and Koenemann 1899.

From Bonnewitz catalog 1920: EXCELSA. Deep, clear yellow of excellent shade; orange beard; fine and of long blooming season; 6 in. 25 cts.; $1.50 a doz.
From Meadow Mountain Bulb Farm catalog 1931: EXCELSA. Clear deep lemon yellow. 3 to 5 blooms on well branched stalks. 10 to 12 ins. 3 for 50., 25 for $1.75, 100 for $5.50.
