2002, Spoon
'Hilda's Gift' (Donald Spoon, R. 2002). Seedling #97-569A. MDB, 6" (15 cm). Early midseason bloom and rebloom. Standards and style arms rich golden yellow; falls deeper golden yellow, darker old gold spot; beards golden yellow; ruffled, flared; slight sweet fragrance. 'Orange Tiger' X 'Baby Prince'. Winterberry 2002.

| From AIS Bulletin #325 April 2002 Introducing Hilda's Gift MDB, 6" (15 cm), EM and RE (Aug. in zone 6b). Rich yellow bitone with lighter standards and style arms. Golden yellow beards. Wide and ruffled. Profuse carpet of bloom in spring and fall with stalks of 2-3 buds. Vigorous increase. Fertile both ways. (Orange Tiger X Baby Prince). (Named for Hilda Cunningham's gift of life to my mother). $20. Winterberry Gardens. |
