1914, Millet et Fils

'Négus' (Millet et Fils). DB, 9" (23 cm). Early bloom. Color Code B1D Dark blue-violet self; falls velvety; yellow beards; slender stalks; spathes edged and tipped red, half scarious. Mixed with 'Wigan'. Millet et Fils 1914.

From Treholme Gardens catalog 1931: NEGUS (Millet 1914) E.82, G.86, E., 10". S. dark violet-purple; F. velvety, very dark purple, haft lighter; golden yellow beard. While it is taller than most dwarf varieties, yet it is one of the most free-flowering and desirable.
