'Purple Path' (Walter Marx, R. 1955). DB, 6" (15 cm), Early midseason bloom. Red-violet self; orange-yellow beards. 'Wee Admiral', X 'Heatherbloom'. Marx 1955.

From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1955: PURPLE PATH. Each 1.50. Many dwarf purple ms are available but for our concept of ideal form this seedling is perfect. Here we have the best tall bearded iris form in miniature in full wide segmented flowers and pleasing outline. A rich red purple self with orange yellow beard. Very free flowering. 6 inches.
