1970, Brown

'Red Cutie' (Alta Brown, R. 1969). Seedling #D 822-15. MDB, 4-5" (114 cm). Very early bloom. Color Code-RV1DD. Deep maroon-red (darker than Wilson 1030) self; beard violet-blue, heavy and long. Seedling #D 411-9 ('Cute Capers' x 'Red Amethyst') X 'Vindobona'. Brown's Iris Garden 1970.

AIS Awards: Honorable Mention 1971; Judges’ Choice 1971.

From AIS Bulletin #197 April 1970 Introducing RED CUTIE. Sdlg. D 822-15. (D411-9 Cute Capers x Red Amethyst) X Vindabona. EE. 4-5". Deepest maroon red pumila with velvety sheen and long, heavy beard of violet-blue. Good flaring form and a terrific color. A fine addition to the red class. $5.00. Brown's Iris Garden.
