1955, Marx 'Red Dart' (Walter Marx, R. 1955). DB, 8" (20 cm). Late bloom. Standards soft red-violet; falls darker red-violet, near dahlia purple (M & P); orange beards. Heatherbloom X Sound Money. Marx 1955. See below:

| From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1955:RED DART. Each 2.00. Similarity of color and form suggested the name for this brilliant little iris. Like its big relative the color is deep wine red with a glowing orange yellow beard. Delicious grape fragrance. 8 inches. Midseason to late. |
