1988, Black

'Spot Of Tea' (Paul Black, R. 1988). Seedling #85334A. MDB, 7" (18 cm). Early bloom. Standards buff; buff styles; falls buff with well defined red brown spot, white haft markings and line at end of beard; white beard tipped cream. 'Pecan Spot' X 'Eyebright'. Mid-America Gardens 1989. Honorable Mention 1991; Award of Merit 1993; Caparne-Welch Medal 1995.

From Mid-America Garden catalog, 1989: SPOT OF TEA - MDB, 7" (18cm), Early. In the center of the fall of this pretty little buff colored iris is a rich spot of strong tea. This dark red-brown spot is well defined and covers most of the fall. A superb addition to the class. Thanks to Perry Dyer for the name. Sdlg. 85334A: Pecan Spot X Eyebright. SEE PHOTO. $10.00.
