‘Tony’ (Hans Peter Sass, 1931). DB, 7" (18 cm). Early bloom. Color Code-R7D. Deep wine red self; orange beards. Parentage unknown. Sass 1931.

From Hill Iris Farm catalog 1932: TONY (H. P. Sass, 1931). Blackish red purple pumila hybrid, as the name indicates, a real aristocrat, on dress parade. $2.00.
From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1955: TONY. Each .50. Glowing red purple. One of the very best dwarfs. 6 inch.
