From AIS Bulletin #209 April 1973 Introducing TIMPALA. MTB-mini. 16". (I. pallida I-58A X I. timofejewii). Description similar to PALTIME except that this is a dark blue self. Both of these unusual hybrids will attempt to form pods, but they are (so far at ieast) puff balls. If they can be induced to set seed, it could be an exciting break. It was learned that the chromosomes of I. timofejewii are very different from other bearded irises. $5.00, both for $8.50. Earl Roberts
