'Velvet Bouquet' (Terry Varner, R. 1983). Seedling #D-315. MTB, 20" (51 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards light purple; falls very dark velvety purple; yellow beard. Seedling #B-315, dark blue diploid, X 'Pale Amoena'. Riverdale Iris 1984. Honorable Mention 1986.

From AIS Bulletin #253 April 1984 Introducing VELVET BOUQUET (W. T. Varner) MTB, 20", M. Dark blue diploid X Pale Amoena. This bitone has light purple stands and very dark velvety purple falls. A bouquet of small flowers on dainty stems will delight the MTB enthusiast and add dimension to any garden. $7.50. Riverdale Iris Gardens.
