Night Editor' (Joseph Ghio, R. 1986). Seedling #PN-277WW. CA, 10" (25 cm). Midseason to late bloom. Standards purple; falls, same with black sheen. Seedling #PP-337J: ( 'Go Wild' x 'Oval Office' sibling) X seedling #PP-375: ('Oval Office' sibling x 'Carbonero'). Bay View Gardens 1987. Honorable Mention 1992; Award of Merit 1995; Mitchell Medal 1997.

From Bay View Gardens catalog for 1991: "Ultra smooth purple with black velvet sheen; bubble-ruffled."
The dark blackish sheen doesn't photograph well so my photos don't do this variety justice. It is very vigorous and the most ruffled pacifica I grow. -- MikeUnser - 17 Oct 2009
