Flower Societies

The American Iris Society is one of many groups dedicated to particular groups of flowers. Aside from the differences in the flowers that are their focus, all face similar challenges and opportunities. This is a summary of some of them primarily obtained from their websites or other online presence. Hopefully it will be useful for our consideration in a number of ways.

The list of flower societies comes from two sources: the groups that attended CAPS (Coalition of Plant Societies) meetings with us and the American Horticultural Society list of Societies by Plant Type.

American Camellia Society website has 6 top level menu items plus search. The menu has 2 lower levels of menus. One each new page the path you took to that page (Home - About - Governance for example) is shown with clickable links for the higher level pages. The ACS 2019 National Convention is February 15-18 in Mobile, Alabama. Committees, Board, and General meetings are Friday. Tours Saturday and Monday. Flower show, lectures, and awards banquet Sunday. Registration is $300 for full, $125 for Saturday, Sunday, or Monday as single day only. Unusual entries include a site map and a 2005-2006 Strategic Plan. It appears anyone can submit their club contact information or
