| Hybridizer's Comment - Keeping the iconic Tasmania theme going, this seedling will be called 'Artist's Pool'. Artist's Pool is one of the most tranquil places in Tasmania in the Cradle Mountain National Park. The dark pumila spot on the falls reminds me of the dark, tannin stained, pool surrounded by the yellow hues of the button grass, the ancient bristlecone, king billy pines, and evening sky reflecting off a perfectly smooth surface. This seedling is super robust flowering mid-to-late season on tallish 35cm stems. It will rapidly form a large clump making it ideal for mass plantings. We especially LOVE the violet blaze running from the beard down to the front edge of the falls. |
