From AIS Bulletin #281 April 1991 Introducing BEDFORD LILAC (B. Jones) Sdlg. 362-1: Sapphire Jewel X ((Meadow Moss x 176-1) x (Meadow Moss x Kentucky Bluegrass)). Popular at the Median Muster in Boston '88 and best seedling Greater St. Louis Iris Show '90, we believe you are going to become very fond of Bedford Lilac. Flax blue standards are domed and overlapping at their tips. Nearly horizontal falls are deeper flax blue, blending to lighter edges. Prominent beards are medium to deep lilac. Different and very pretty. Bedford was the host city for the Muster. 11". HC 1990. $10.00. Bennett Jones.
