■(SDB) 'Black Star'

1984, Warburton

'Black Star' (Bee Warburton, R. 1983). Seedling 61 AA-2., R. SDB, height 10" (25 cm), Early to midseason bloom. Standards dark violet (RHS 83A) with luminata pattern but no white veining; falls dark purple (darker then 79A) with off-white shading on hafts and styles; white beard; pronounced spicy fragrance. 'Song' X seedling 23W-1: (very dark seedling from plicata/luminata lines). Warburton 1984.
