'Dark Star' (Geddes Douglas, R. 1954). SDB, height 12" (30 cm), Early bloom. Blue-purple self, beard same. 'Gulf Stream' X pumila blue. Fairmount, Brentwood 1954.

From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1962: DARK STAR (G. Douglas 1955) Each 1.50. A complete blue-purple self with a beard of matching color. 12 inches.
Fairmount 1954 catalog gives"DARK STAR (Douglas 1954) E. This deep blue-purple is so floriferous that the plants are literally covered with blooms and thus it has a long flowering season. 12 in. $2.50"
