From 1972 Melrose Garden catalog: DEMON. In case you happen across this evil little fellow, don't panic! He's really just a very dark, black maroon, small iris. Near orbicular flaring falls and rounded closed standards; the beards are blue. Classy full form, good size relationships, floriferous and an increaser. HC 1971. 10.00. |
DEMON (Hager '72)-Here we have depth of color in a sooty red-black of good rounded form. It is definitely a "must-have" and one that is without color competition today. [Joe Gatty, “A Median Review,” The Bulletin of the American Iris Society, Vol. 55, No. 214 (July 1974): 56.] |
