Hybridizers' comment: This was my first registration . 'Eitje' in Dutch means 'Little Egg' refering to the colours of the iris. It also means 'Easy', 'Piece of Cake': quite accurate concerning 'Eitje' that was very easy to select, being the only surviving seedling from this cross. The shape of the flower is not perfect, but the plant is so healthy, the foliage so beautiful, with 3 buds on each stalk, it couldn't end up on the compost! It also had a slight chartreuse hint in the yellow spot, and the white beard was in very striking contrast with it. It also gives interesting babies, that you can see there: Eitje babies. |
'Eitje' (Loïc Tasquier, E. 2007). Semis DD04-03. SDB, 20 cm, Moyen. |
