'Jolly Fellow' (Alta Brown, R. 1972). Seedling# M 1404-5. SDB, 13-14" (33-36 cm), Early midseason bloom. Standards greenish tan; falls velvety brown, slightly lighter edges; flax blue beard. Seedling# M 1292-7: ('Snow Troll' x 'Grace Note') X 'Gingerbread Man'. J. & J. Iris 1973.

M 1404-5 ((Snow Troll x Grace Note) X Gingerbread Man), Greenish-tan standards over rich, velvety brown falls, slightly lighter at edges highlighted by a heavy flax blue beard. Makes this a most exciting variety. Lovely form and good substance. Name suggested by Ron Mullin of Okla. to honor that Jolly Fellow, Rex Brown. NET $7.50. J&J Iris Garden.
