'Mystic Midnight' (David Sindt, R. 1969). Seedling# D701. SDB, 13" (33 cm), Early midseason bloom. Color Class-V3FDcm, Standards bright full violet, slightly blended in tone; falls blackish violet, broadly edged full violet; blackish violet beard; tan stylearms. 'Inca Chief' X 'Sulina'. Riverdale Iris 1970. Honorable Mention 1973.

From AIS Bulletin #197 April 1970 Introducing MYSTIC MIDNIGHT (David Sindt). SDB, 13". (Inca Chief X Sulina), The fifth and last introduction from the varied and outstanding progeny of this cross. A bright, slightly sooty violet with a dark blackish spot in the falls and a deep violet beard. The soft tan style arms create the effect of a strange inner glow, quite different from the usual blacks. Wide petals, flaring form, and vigorous growth typical of its sibs. $7.50. Riverdale Iris Gardens.
