1996, Boswell

'Violet Lashes' (Carl Boswell, R. 1995) Seedling #165-85-S. SDB, 9" (23 cm). Early bloom. Standards light cream, marginal red violet stitching; falls light cream, marginal red violet dotting and stitching, red violet eyelash pattern from yellow beard. 'Invasion In Pink' X 'Rare Edition' x I. balkana ). Adamgrove 1996.

From Adamgrove catalog, 1997: VIOLET LASHES (Boswell, 96) Clear white bounded all about with strong, deep violet with lashes of violet extending out onto the falls. The beards are also an unusually intense orange-yellow; last year we said they weren't tangerine, but it appears they may really be. We have grown some strikingly contrasty, well-formed intermediate plicata seedlings from it. $10.00
