'Blue Pennant' (Currier McEwen, R. 1971). Seedling T267/4 A. SIB (56± chrom.), 30" (76 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards dark blue-violet (89C), velvety; falls blue-violet (89B), velvety; blue-violet (89A) blaze with yellow-white edging. Seedling 61/Cas 22: ('Snowy Egret' x unknown) X seedling 61/Cas18: ('Blue Moon' x unknown). McEwen 1972. Honorable Mention 1973.

From AIS Bulletin #206 July 1972 Introducing BLUE PENNANT 30", M. Dark blue-violet (89 B) 5-1/4" flowers with round 2-1/2" flaring falls and upright slightly lighter standards. Blaze inconspicuous. Rich color and velvety texture. Fine branching. Second generation tetraploid derived from Snowy Egret x Blue Moon. Fertile with tetraploids. $35. Currier McEwen.
