From AIS Bulletin #305 April 1997 Introducing COUNTESS CATHLEEN - SIBERIAN. Schafer/Sacks (Seedling No. S91-9-1), 30", M. Like a sweet young girl dressed for dancing, Countess Cathleen is a contrast in peace and vitality - a pale iris that shines. The lightest of blue-violet falls blend imperceptably into clean white signals which are punctuated by blue-violet veining and just a glimmering of yellow. The shoulders are darker blue-violet, giving the falls added shape and depth. The pale standards and styles are both adorned with small frilly ruffles. Beautifully proportioned medium sized flowers on good straight stalks are carried just above the foliage. Four to five buds. HC 1996. S89-9-2: (Isabelle x Silver Illusion) X S88-6-2: (Isabelle x Sailor's Fancy). $30.00. Joe Pye Weed's Garden. |
