1979, McEwen

'Dear Dianne' (Currier McEwen, R. 1979). Seedling T3 73/62(2). SIB (tetraploid), 27" (69 cm), Midseason bloom. Medium dark blue-violet (RHS 89B) with distinct narrow silver edge on falls; white signal. Seedling T2 70/48(3): (('White Swirl' x 'Violet Flare') x ('Blue Brilliant' x unknown)) X seedling T1 68/9(1): ('White Swirl' x 'Polly Dodge'). McEwen 1979. Honorable Mention 1981.

From AIS Bulletin #234 Summer 1979 Introducing DEAR DIANNE (T3 73/62®): Tetraploid, 27", M. Our finest Siberian to date. Flowers 6" with 2-1/2", flaring falls. Velvety, dark blue-violet with narrow white edge around falls. Well branched and budded. From seedlings involving White Swirl, Violet Flare, Blue Brilliant and Polly Dodg. $30.00. Currier McEwen.
