(SIB) 'Mauve Mood'

1971, McEwen

'Mauve Mood' ( Currier McEwen, R. 1970) Seedling S66/99B. SIB (40 chrom.), 32" (81 cm), Midseason to late bloom. Standards mauve (81C) with delicate veining of 81A; styles purple (77B) shading to 77A to near black at tips; Falls same with blaze of reddish black and yellow. Hansford seedling: (Mauve line from I. bulleyana ) X sibling. McEwen 1971. Honorable Mention 1972.

From AIS Bulletin #202 July 1971 Introducing MAUVE MOOD. 32". M to L. The 3" flowers have standards and falls of mauve (81A to C) set off by purple styles shading to black at their tips and a blaze of reddisb-black. Fine branching. Floriferous and fertile. Sister to Blue Forty. $10. Currier McEwen.
