Iris pumila L. Dark purple-blue Standards and falls, About 8 inches (20 cm) tall. Beard white with hairs yellow tipped in the throat. Practically no pedicel with the flowers arising directly from the Rhizome as in
I. pumila. Described in Not. Syst. Herb. Inst. Bot. Acad. Sci., URSS, xiii. 4 (1950),
Note: It is possible that all the plants in cultivation in the USA are an imposter. Nonetheless the USA material has not been assigned a corrected species name and may represent a new species.
