'Atilla' - Collected form of Iris danfordiae; A lovely bright yellow species. Its only fault is the bulbs 'shatter' (produce lots of bulblets). In North American gardens (climatic conditions) they don't tend to get back up to bloom size. It is 2n=18 while the form of danfordiae in commerce is a sterile triploid 3n=27; 'Atlla is one of the foundation plants to produce the fertile family of cultibars known as Iris x mcmurtiei
