This is Dykes' designation for the form most common in Britain (and it is quite a handsome flower, for a germanica! IB; Early bloom. Color Class-B3D)- Philip Edinger.
"Standards distinctly blue-purple, falls a slightly redder shade. Beard almost white, yellowing at base"-Cornell Univ. Agri. Exp. Sta. Memoir 100, July 1926.
