P. P. Poljakov, From near the Ili River, Kazakstan). Species similar to
Iris lactea and separated by the shape of its seeds. "nearly spherical seed, slightly compressed from the sides and elongated to a slight beak" -SIGNA' #25, p.855. Considered by many a variation of
Iris lactea Pallas, but not enough information has been available to make a definitive statement.
