1887, Botanical author Foster

Iris lineata Foster ex Regel ( Sir Michael Foster by way of Regel, 1887, Northeastern Afghanistan, Kataghan, upper Farkhar Valley). Subgenus Iris, Section Regelia. Flower 2 and onehalf inches(6 cm in diameter Purple brown standards and brown falls. The standards and falls are very narrow giving it its name,
